After hearing about the Foundations of East Chicago (FEC) scholarship from her guidance counselor at Bishop Noll Institute, Lynsie Markovich knew she had to apply. In May of 2016, she received $3,500 annually to attend college.

“I knew that without this scholarship I would not be able to cover the cost of tuition,” Lynsie said. “Before applying to the FEC, I have personally heard and seen the many things that they do to help the East Chicago community, and I thought it would be an amazing opportunity for myself.”

Lynsie plans on graduating with a degree in Elementary Education/Special Education from Indiana University Northwest in Gary.

“The Foundations of East Chicago is an amazing organization that strives to provide opportunity to the youth in our community so that we can become successful individuals.”
