This September will mark 20 years that the Foundations of East Chicago (FEC) have been in operation. During that time, FEC has grown tremendously, going from awarding just $20,000 in scholarships in 1998, to over $1 million in 2017. As we continue to grow into the future, we felt it was time to update our website.
The new website, which can be found at the same web address, www.FoundationsEC.org, contains all of the same information as the old one, however it is organized in a more visual, user-friendly fashion. It is our hope that this website will encourage more East Chicagoans to read about us, attend events, and apply for grants and scholarships.
Upon arriving to the website, visitors will notice that the menu bar has been moved to the left side of the screen which allows viewers to easily see rotating video coverage of FEC events. A scroll past the video will take visitors to clickable icons for the Grant, Scholarship, and Donation pages, so that information on these popular topics can be found easily.
Past the icons, one can find some information about the mission and vision of FEC. Also, visitors can easily subscribe to the FEC e-newsletter from this section of the page.
The last segment of the home page allows visitors to click on some of the most recent FEC blogs pertaining to grantees, scholarship recipients, and events within the community. Beneath the blogs is a to-date tally of the grant and scholarship dollars awarded by FEC.
For those who want to learn more about FEC and what is happening in the community of East Chicago, the left side of the screen also contains clickable social media icons that will take visitors to all five of our social media channels and the blog.
