Jose Bustos, a manager at Immigrant Support and Assistance Center, said the organization is looking forward to progressing towards better ways to distribute information to the community.

The organization has dedicated time to becoming a resource for credible information by holding workshops and meetings that feature a variety of topics including: the latest changes on Immigration law, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals updates, assistance from other organizations, requirements for adjustment of legal status and available medical assistance information.

These workshops all revolve around the mission of the organization which is to protect and promote the fundamental rights and civil liberties of the immigrant population of Northwest Indiana and beyond.

“We are a charitable work and our aim and purpose is to educate and support those immigrants who are the most vulnerable of the community,” Bustos said.

ISAAC also offers emergency assistance to immigrant families who find themselves without a job. Additionally, the organization assists clients with rent, NIPSCO, water and medical expenses.
