The Dunes Learning Center in Chesterton provides unparalleled environmental education for all residents of and visitors to the south shore region. The center sits in the middle of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, a protected national park, and includes classes and programs that teach regional history, environmental stewardship and conservation in ways that are fun for everyone. The south shore is known for its biodiversity and the programs at the center educate on all parts of the park including the forests, sand dunes and lake.
