Each year, the Foundations of East Chicago (FEC) awards college scholarships to high school students living in East Chicago. This year was the organization’s largest scholarship class in history. Fifty-five high school students received scholarships in amounts ranging from $2,000 to $5,500 and each scholarship is renewable for up to four years.
FEC’s annual scholarship reception that was held at East Chicago’s campus of Ivy Tech Community College. The reception consisted of an awards ceremony and several motivational speeches from FEC personnel and community members. Check out this video for a recap of the ceremony.
