HealthLinc, Inc. is a health care system in Northern Indiana that works to provide quality, affordable health care to everyone, regardless of income or insurance status. They practice the goal of removing the disparity that exists in the field of medical care services.

HealthLinc started as Hilltop Community Health Center in Valparaiso. At this time, Hilltop provided medical services strictly to unemployed and underemployed adults in Porter County. However, those behind Hilltop recognized the greater need of all residents of Northern Indiana and responded with HealthLinc.

HealthLinc currently has six locations: Mishawaka, Knox, Michigan City, East Chicago and two offices in Valparaiso. The organization also has a travelling medical and dental van that makes visits to health fairs, schools and other locations to provide on-site services.

As new community health concerns become apparent, HealthLinc adjusts and expands to respond to them. One of the most recent examples can be seen at HealthLinc East Chicago, the newest branch. Once in the community, HealthLinc came to realize that the infant mortality rate in East Chicago is above the state average. HealthLinc responded by partnering with Foundations of East Chicago (FEC), a local nonprofit that awards grants to community organizations, to assist with funds to hire a perinatal care team nurse for the obstetrics division.

HealthLinc continues to service the people in its community who need it most. The organization does this by remaining true to its values of innovation, collaboration, accessibility, respect, excellence and servant care.
