For students attending college, searching for scholarships to help cut the out-of-pocket costs can be like a full-time job. That’s why the Foundations of East Chicago (FEC) is hosting a scholarship and career fair on January 20, 2017 that will bring many local and regional scholarship opportunities to one place.
The fair will be held at the East Chicago Central High School gymnasium from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will be open to the public.
While FEC loves to help students get to and through college, they recognize that college just isn’t for everyone. That is why they are coupling the scholarship fair with a career fair of local employers looking to fill positions. The event will be a resource not only for those seeking scholarships, but anyone looking for a new job or career, as well.
This is the first event of its kind for FEC but, if it is successful, it could become an annual resource for members of the community.
