By using the arts to promote a sense of purpose in the youth of East Chicago, For the Love of the Arts helps reduce violence and crime. They promote the positive identity of their students and community through specific core values: Empowerment, Purpose, Love of Learning, Confidence, Social Skills and Life Skills. After school programming is offered at Lighthouse Academy of East Chicago and Lincoln Elementary, and include a unique approach of tutoring and S.T.E.A.M based enrichment courses in fine arts.
The Foundations of East Chicago provided For the Love of the Arts with a grant to help support their mission in enriching students’ lives with art.
