On Thursday, April 19th, the Foundations of East Chicago (FEC) held their 2018 Scholarship Awards Reception, presenting students from around Northwest IN with scholarships to further their education. The reception was held at Ameristar Hotel and Casino in East Chicago.

Since 1998, the FEC has awarded scholarships with a total exceeding $8,000,000. This year, in addition to the 66 High School Scholarship Awards, the FEC has also awarded 21 General Scholarship Awards in the amount of $1,500 in the areas of Continuing Education, Non-Traditional, and Trade.

The High School Scholarship Awards were given to students from the following schools:

  • Bishop Noll Institute
  • East Chicago Central High School
  • Lighthouse Charter School
  • Mount Carmel
  • St. Francis De Sales
  • Whiting High School
