Thanks to eight young community activists devoted to enacting change in East Chicago and making it a better place for current residents, the organization Greenhouse Fellowship intends to make its presence known through helping citizens to restore their community and their mission is clear: the youth have a voice, a vision, and the determination to help East Chicago make positive changes. All recent-graduates of Central High School, the fellows of Greenhouse want the residents of East Chicago to know that they have a very innovative plan for which to accomplish their vision of resilience and renewal.
The organization is eager to engage with the entire community and hear their needs and visions for their neighborhoods, in addition to sharing what changes they expect to occur in East Chicago as a result of Greenhouse Fellowship’s full-time efforts collaborating with select agencies and non-profits so as to provide direct service, build organizational capacity and train with some of the nation’s best social entrepreneurs and community organizers.
In order to begin a dialogue with fellow residents, Greenhouse Fellowship is hosting a community engagement meeting on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 at 3419 North Michigan Ave from 9-10:00 a.m. Light refreshments will be served.
