Girls on the Run of Northwest Indiana is a local chapter of an international organization that works to build positive self-esteem, healthy habits and charity in local girls of all income-levels. This is done with a specific curriculum that is delivered through group activities and outdoor challenges that the girls enjoy. The program has grown tremendously over the years and now serves approximately 2,000 girls in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties. Grants from Foundations of East Chicago (FEC) has helped make it possible for the organization to be open to East Chicago participants as well.
